The Kymera Magic Wand That Had The Dragons' Den Under Its Spell Now Available At Menkind

The Kymera Wand, a remote control that helped its inventors secure a record investment on the BBC television show Dragons’ Den, is now available to purchase at Menkind’s stores as well as online at Menkind.co.uk.

Viewers of last Monday’s (August 23) episode of Dragon’s Den saw inventor Chris Barnardo pitch his innovative, buttonless magic wand remote control which appears to take a lot of inspiration from the books and films of Harry Potter.

The invention received the largest offer of investment ever for the programme, resulting in the show’s fiercest dragon, Duncan Bannatyne, offering £200,000 which was accepted by Chris and his co-inventor Richard Blakesley.

The remote is able to control TVs, Hifi systems and many other remote controlled devices with a flick of the wrist or one of the 13 predefined movements. The remote acts like the many universal remotes in that it can learn 13 commands, or “spells” from existing remotes you have around the home.

Chris Barnardo said: “I suggested the idea to Richard when we were drinking in a pub and he came up with the plan to control it by gestures, not buttons.”

Chris even tested out people’s reaction to their invention by holding a wand in one hand and secretly holding a television remote behind his back. When the television sprung to life after a wave of the wand model, Chris’ son was amazed at how his father was in possession of a real life “magic wand”.

Men’s gifts retailer Menkind.co.uk now has the must have Dragons’ Den product in stock at both its online store at Menkind.co.uk as well as its stores found up and down the country. The completely buttonless remote control is priced at £49.99 and is sure to be hot favourite with customers, especially with the run up to Christmas just around the corner.

The product is already on sale across the world, with 20,000 wands already having been sold in countries including the USA, Japan and Russia. Its success to date is all the more impressive since The Kymera Wand has only been on sale since September.

For the Kymera magic wand, as well as many other Christmas gifts and men’s christmas presents, visit Menkind.co.uk or one of the many high street stores in cities such as Liverpool, Manchester and London.
