Author Lamar Ariel debuts new book entitled Ready to Male

Released on: October 7, 2008, 9:32 am

Press Release Author: Courtanie Sanders

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: Autobiographical fiction written as a collection of letters

Press Release Body: Author Lamar Ariel is set to release an innovative and exciting
collection of letters in his first book entitled Ready to Male. The work infuses
elements of short story and memoir writing styles to provide a snapshot of the
authors' ongoing journey to creatively examine rather than dismiss his personal
thoughts.

Using humor, wordplay, poetry, and a healthy dose of sarcasm – each chapter of Ready
to Male contains exaggerated interpretations of real life experiences. The work
provides an intimate vessel for eaves-dropping on one man's attempt to make sense of
his emotions and the rapidly changing world around him. "Lamar Ariel writes a letter
to us all—offering a heartfelt and humorous peak into his world," states Toby
Thompkins, author of The Real Lives of Strong Black Women.

As exemplified through letters such as "Dear No Strings Attached"—And in the middle
of it all, there was the time I spent not realizing that—without those four required
strings—we couldn't produce any notes in harmony. —each letter tells an honest and
relatable story about the author's relationship with characters that have existed in
his life. "If Paul Beatty and James Hardy had a love child, he would be Lamar Ariel.
Ready to Male is witty, poignant, and as delightful of a read as you will
find."--Ferentz Lafargue, author of Songs in the Key of My Life.

With the release of his book this week, the author takes a moment to reflect upon
his work, "It's wonderful to passionately create something where the greatest reward
is the fact that it simply exists."
