Rock Lodge Club sits on 145 acres of woodlands in the New Jersey Highlands. During
the Roaring Twenties, the property was a training camp for Jack Dempsey and other
boxers, and in 1932 it was established as a seasonal nudist club, which continues
today. The grounds also feature one of New Jersey’s unique historic buildings, the
Stone House. It was built as a model fireproof farmhouse in 1907 by the architect,
Abraham Lincoln Himmelwright, a chief engineer for the Roebling Construction
Company, builders of the Brooklyn Bridge.
