former Department of Justice Trial Attorney and Assistant U.S. Attorney, David M.
Hoovler has joined the firm as an associate in their Chester, New York office. Mr.
Hoovler will further enhance the firm’s strong litigation practice, handling both
criminal and civil matters in Federal and State courts.

“David is an excellent trial attorney who has been recognized nationally for his
work,” explains Ben Ostrer, partner of Ostrer Rosenwasser. “He is a welcome addition

Prior to joining Ostrer Rosenwasser, Mr. Hoovler specialized in electronic
surveillance-related issues, wiretapping and intricate conspiracy cases. He also
served in the Orange County and Bronx District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure
in the Bronx, he was involved in the prosecution of white-collar crimes.

In the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Mr. Hoovler served as lead
prosecutor bringing about the demise of the Benkard Barrio King street gang of
Newburgh, and also headed the prosecution of the Operation East End case involving a
major cocaine ring.

Mr. Hoovler’s work has earned him awards from the FBI and the New York Federal
Executive Board for excellence in prosecution. He was also honored as the New York
State Arson Prosecutor of the Year in 2002, and recognized by the National District
Attorney’s Association for the prosecution of a national dog-fighting promoter in
2004.

David Hoovler is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Michigan State College of Law, and
earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland. He is a former Prince
George’s County, Maryland State Police Officer. Mr. Hoovler currently resides in
Orange County, NY.
