Scottish IPTV Company sees success at home

Released on: January 28, 2008, 7:36 am

Press Release Author: Exterity

Industry: Telecommunications

Press Release Summary: Dedicated sales manager recruited to cover Scotland following
global success

Press Release Body: Edinburgh, 28th January, 2008: Following seven years of
continued success in the global market, Edinburgh-based network IPTV equipment
manufacturer Exterity, is now experiencing rapid growth on its home territory. To
cope with demand, Exterity has appointed Ian Simpson as Channel Sales Manager for
Scotland. Ian will focus on maintaining and growing Exterity’s Scottish partner
portfolio, working hand in hand with them to target, deploy and manage IPTV
solutions in the education, corporate and hospitality sectors.

Since 2001, Exterity has been deployed by more than 500 customers in over 17
countries, helping companies like Reuters, QVC and SAB Miller and educational
establishments such as Matthew Boulton College and Lewisham College stream broadcast
quality media via an IP network. Organisations across Scotland are now beginning to
capitalise on the ability to turn an existing IP network into a complete IPTV
solution using Exterity technology. For example, working with Forth Electrical
Services (FES), Exterity has deployed a range of school TV systems as part of
Private Finance Initiative (PFI) upgrades to educational institutions across
Scotland.

“IPTV has really grown in popularity across Europe and the Middle East in recent
years and we have a lot of customers in these regions. Scotland is now going
through a similar period of growth in terms of IPTV pick-up, as companies competing
on a global level take advantage of the business benefits to be gained from the
technology,” commented Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity. “In Ian we have gained a
highly experienced Channel Sales Manager who will offer our local partners the
support they need as well as helping us grow in our home market.”

Ian brings with him more than a decade of valuable technical sales experience,
having worked across many different industry sectors in Scotland, prior to which he
has an electronic design background in the TV industry with Mitsubishi Electric.

Notes to Editors:
About Exterity
Exterity Limited was formed in 2001 to create products to deliver broadcast quality
digital video over IP networks within buildings. Exterity’s products represent a
significant advance over the co-axial cable systems in common use today but are
viable for deployment in large-scale video distribution systems.
Exterity’s core technology, in-socket™, allows display appliances, such as
televisions, to be connected directly to wall-mounted iSockets to get direct and
easy access to all available digital media and services.
Exterity is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
