TerraSip, a VoIP provider based in Southern Spain (‘Europe’s California’) is offering a new service for direct customers and resellers with immediate effect. Every registered customer can send text messages of up to 160 characters each from the TerraSip website. The handling is easy and the costs extremely low. The customer selects the texting web page on www.terrasip.com and enters a target cellphone number in the field provided. The text message is typed into the next field, after which it is dispatched using the ‘Send text message’ button. That’s all there is to it. A special data field informs the customer of his prepaid credit. All text messages sent are recorded in a personal message register which the customer can inspect at any time.
Bulk text messaging for 4.9 eurocents: Bulk text messages can be sent for the same price as individual messages. In this case the sender selects the appropriate dispatch mode and simply enters all target numbers using copy and paste into the target number field. The numbers should be separated by commas. Then the message is entered and the bulk message can be submitted.
For the most part TerraSip uses internet connections to implement the new texting service (similar to Voice over IP transmissions), disseminating the messages to target networks via so-called gateways.
No basic charge, no minimum usage: As is the case with all of TerraSip’s services: There are no hidden charges. The user can be sure that no other costs than the 4.9 eurocents per message will be charged. These charges are debited from the customer’s prepaid account.
TerraSip TEXTing soon to be made available via WAP: TerraSip’s development engineers are currently creating an innovative software package which will allow the new TEXTing service to be used from WAP compliant GSM cellphones – so customers need not use their PCs or seek out an internet café. They can use their own cellphones to send text messages throughout the world for the extremely reasonable price of 4.9 eurocents per message. The new software, which will also allow for low-priced mobile VoIP telephony, is projected to be available before the end of the year.
Information about the provider TerraSip TerraSip is a young, internationally oriented company operating throughout the globe. It offers free internet telephony for TerraSip community members using international SIP standards. Calls into other networks are charged at especially reasonable rates, whereby users can take advantage of 56 country-specific special prices, so that the majority can further optimise their telephone costs. Membership of the TerraSip community is free. TerraSip’s main orientation is in the direction of mobile internet telephony: Voice over WLAN or VoWLAN for short.
