According to a spokesman of TUSDEC here Friday, a tripartite agreement was signed
between NWFP government, Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and

Development and Small Industries, Mohammad Ayyaz Khan and Additional Chief
Secretary, Ghulam Dastgir.
NWFP Secretary for Industries, Commerce and Mineral Development Ahsanullah Khan,
Chairman TUSDEC, Almas Hyder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PIDC, Abdul Bari
Khan inked the agreement.
TUSDEC will set up two SDCs , one each for training of youth in the trades of
construction and hospitality respectively, as a part of its efforts for the poverty
reduction and reconstruction activity in the areas of the country ravaged by October
8 earthquake.
The company has been tasked by the Ministry of Industries, Production and Special
Initiatives with the construction of eight SDCs in the quake-hit areas of NWFP and
Azad Kashmir i.e. Batagram, Balakot, Bagh and Muzaffarabad.
“We are hopeful that the skilled manpower produced by these centres will contribute
significantly to the reconstruction activity in the areas hit by earthquake,”
Chairman TUSDEC, Almas Hyder said after the agreement signing ceremony.
He said that this step would be also helpful in bringing down the incidence of
poverty in these districts.
